Eva Antonini was born in Rapperswil (Switzerland), the place of her childhood, adolescence and studies. His natural predisposition to mold clay – a material that he later preferred for his creations – emerged already in the first years of his existence.
Although life oriented her towards a commercial and linguistic professional path, in 2002 her true passion for sculpture erupted which led her to immerse herself, without looking back, in this fascinating world of three-dimensional creativity.
The body as “translator of the soul to the visible”! Following this common thread in her research, Eva Antonini gives birth to fragments of bodies and faces impregnated by time and the signs left by life. Fragments like a sort of map of experience that contemplate the fragility and transience of life, the metamorphosis between past and present.
In the following years his sculptural research became unstoppable and excited, especially in the silence of the night. The possibility of being able to transfer her ideas onto matter excites her and, at the same time, torments her.
In 2005 he obtained the Prize for Sculpture from the International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Florence, in 2006 the first commission for a bronze intended for an outdoor space and in 2010 some of his works were selected for the exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre, in which is headed by the National Society of Fine Arts of Paris.
This is followed by numerous collective and individual, national and international exhibitions, symposia, commissions and awards, the most recent of which was awarded by Artemilano 2018.
In 2018 he officially inaugurated his new and spacious atelier. In 2020 he received an official assignment from the municipal authorities relating to a bronze work destined for a new square in the Lugano area, Switzerland.
Her exhibition curriculum (collective and personal) sees her present in various locations in Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Austria, France and the United States.
In a summary dimension of her human and expressive experience, Eva Antonini particularly loves a phrase by Goethe:
“To escape the world there is nothing safer than art and nothing is better than art to keep in touch with the world”.
